Oregon Coast/Girls Weekend 2009 (cont...)

Continued....

The Inn At Spanish Head...the hotel we stayed in that opened up right to the beach. We were on the 1st floor

I think these pictures say it all. Nice relaxing moments on the beach.

Settling in for the night

Rohbi wanted me to get a picture of a crab while I was there and the only live crab we found was this little tiny one :)

I didn't realize that starfish were actually a different color than just the white ones you see.

These little green things were kinda weird. They closed up when you touch them.

There was a restaurant called "Lil Sambo's" and my daughter loves the story about Little Black Sambo. My mom, Rohbi and I were all pretty excited about this one :)

There was also a road called Bates Rd and I was going to go get a picture of that too but I was too tired.

On the way to Silver Falls

Silver Falls...so pretty and the smells were amazing! Words don't even do it justice!!!

There was a trail that you could follow and it wound all the way underneath and back up again.

Oregon Coast/Girls Weekend 2009!

I know a few of you have already seen these pictures on Facebook but bear with me because there are others who haven't seen them. I'm not going to give you a big long schpeel on what we did but I will give you the basics of our trip! We had an amazing time and it was so beautiful up there!!! We flew into Portland where we met up with Jayne Ann. Saturday, we headed to Tillamook and spent some time at the cheese factory and then over to Cape Meares to see the lighthouse. After that, we headed to Lincoln City, where we got a hotel room that opened up right onto the beach. Sunday, we did a little shopping then headed back to Salem where we headed up to Silverton and went to see Silver Falls. We had a ton of fun along the way! Lots of laughs, memories, and fun!

This is so weird! This is giant asparagus!!! I guess it is supposed to be decorative because it was in a flower garden.

On the way over to Cape Meares

Giant slug!!!!! So disgusting!

Kinda looks like a scene from Twilight doesn't it? It seemed like that all weekend :)

Cape Meares...on the way up to the "Octopus Tree"

The Octopus Tree (Sitka Spruce)

These next pictures don't give the actual scenery justice! It was so pretty and green up there!

Our Fun 4-wheeling Trip Sunday!

We have been trying to coordinate a 4-wheeling trip with Seth and the boys for a few weeks now so we decided to plan it for this weekend. Since Seth and the boys really needed a break from all the drama going on in their lives right now, they decided to come down here and tour our part of the state :) It was a lot of fun!

This is the rubber boa we found just as we were starting off. YUCK!!!

The first stop we made was on top of a mountain that separates Soda and Grace

Eric wouldn't let me take a picture of him. He kept turning his head so I had to catch him off guard!

These two never shut up! :) Just kidding but they can carry on a pretty lengthy conversation!

The Grace side of the mountain with all the farm land

The Soda side of the mountain. That's the Alexander Reservoir

This is the best picture I could get. In all the pictures I tried to take of all of them, at least one of them were looking a different way. This is the only picture I could get of two of them looking at me and smiling. Order is Rohbi, Masyn, and Bradyn

We stopped for lunch and found some sea shells so the kids set out to see who could find the most shells. And by kids I mean Eric too :)

Still looking....

Masyn decided he wanted to get down and play with "BroBro" and "Wobie"

What's a 4-wheeling trip without a little showing off?! Eric and Bradyn took off on a trail just to see where it went so Seth, Masyn, Rohbi and I stayed behind and found some straw bails to play on

Rohbi had to feel included too :)

After 4-wheeling all day, Seth still found the energy to wrestle around with all of the kids. I don't know where he found it because I was beat!

I'm worn out just looking at the pictures!

It was definately a fun weekend and I think the boys were able to take their minds off all the crap back home for a little bit! Hopefully they'll be able to make another trip down here but I think next time we will try to head up there!
